Infections with Salmonella
Salmonella-contaminated food does not normally seem, smell, or taste rotten. A Salmonella infection can make anyone sick. Because their immune systems are vulnerable, infants, children, seniors, and persons with weaker immune systems are at a higher risk of serious illness, according to the CDC.
- Anyone who has consumed any of the recalled goods and has developed signs of Salmonella illness should contact a doctor.
- Because salmonellosis requires particular tests, sick persons should inform their doctors about any probable Salmonella bacterium exposure.
- Salmonella infection symptoms are sometimes confused with those of other infections, leading to misdiagnosis.
- The symptoms of Salmonella infection can include diarrhea, stomach pain, and fever within 12 to 72 hours of ingesting contaminated food.
- Healthy adults, on the other hand, are frequently unwell for four to seven days.
- However, in certain circumstances, diarrhea is severe enough to warrant hospitalization.
People with weaker immune systems, such as cancer patients, are more susceptible to develop severe illnesses and serious, often life-threatening disorders.
Some people become infected without presenting any signs or symptoms. They may, however, continue to spread the diseases to others.
